Changelog
Everything new in yave, newest first.

A projects page you can actually browse
Small things that make yave feel more like home.
Project covers
The projects page is now a grid of cards, and each card shows a frame from your edit so you can spot a project without reading its name. Projects with no footage yet get the yave logo.
Cleaner settings
Settings with several choices are dropdowns, and on/off settings are switches. Changes save the moment you make them, and the settings window stays open.
Help with big videos
Importing a video over 2 GB now tells you exactly how to turn on large uploads, with a button that takes you straight to the setting.
No AI mode follows your project
No AI mode is saved with the project instead of in one browser, so it stays on across every device, and our servers refuse AI requests for that project.
Outside AI tools show up live
Edits made by AI apps connected to yave (like Claude or ChatGPT) now appear in your open tab right away, and those apps can list your projects on their own.
Comments stay out of the way
The comments panel starts hidden. Open it from the Panels menu when you need it.
A quick welcome
New accounts see a short note on their first visit: yave is a real editor first, and the assistant is an optional helper you can learn from.

yave is in public beta
Anyone can sign in and start editing.
New website
A new home page, a manifesto about why we're building yave, and clear Free, Pro, and Max plans. Visitors in India see prices in rupees.
Sign in with Google
One click to get in. Signing out takes you back to the home page.
Experimental features
Settings has a new Experimental section for features that are still settling in. They're off by default, and yave warns you before you turn one on.
Image search is back
Images get indexed for search again, and indexing images is free. It doesn't use any of your plan's video minutes.

A smarter assistant and transparent video
The assistant got a redesign, and exports now keep their transparency.
Pick your model
Choose which AI model each chat uses, including GPT-5 and Claude Opus. The sidebar shows how much of the conversation's memory is used and what the assistant is doing step by step.
Ask about a clip
Point the assistant at a video in your project and ask what happens in it. It watches the clip and answers.
Transparent exports
If parts of your edit are see-through, such as a title over nothing, Export video makes a transparent WebM you can lay over other footage. Everything else still exports as a normal MP4. The preview shows transparency too.
Huge video files (experimental)
Turn on Upload larger videos to link MP4 or MOV files over 2 GB from your device in Chrome or Edge. yave backs up preview-quality copies, so if you move or delete the original, you'll need to relink it to export at full quality.

Sharing and comments
Bring other people into your edit.
Share a project
Invite people to a project. They can watch the edit without being able to change it.
Comments on the timeline
Leave comments on a project. Each one shows up as a marker on the timeline, and the comments panel docks next to the assistant like any other panel.
Media that fixes itself
If a clip failed to back up, yave tries again the next time you open the project, so the people you share with don't run into missing footage.
Reliable rename and delete
Renaming a project sticks everywhere, and deleted projects stay deleted instead of coming back.
Fairer free plan
Free plan limits now reset every 30 days from the day you signed up instead of on the 1st of the month, so new accounts get a full cycle.
